History
Marshfield Savings Bank was originally incorporated in 1919, and we have happily been
serving our customers for almost 90 years. Marshfield Savings Bank started out as
Marshfield Building and Loan, with the mission of helping customers to build or buy
houses. As time went on, the Building and Loan began to expand its mission and became
Marshfield Savings and Loan. In December of 1949, we were issued insurance from the
FDIC and began offering savings products as well as loans. As our mission continued
to evolve, in January of 1993, Marshfield Savings and Loan became a mutual state
chartered savings bank called Marshfield Savings Bank. Marshfield Savings Bank has
been a full-service financial institution ever since.
Currently we have two offices in Marshfield. Our branch office, at 1400 N Central
Ave, has been open since 1973. Our main office is now located at 207 W Sixth St.,
where we moved on November 1, 2004. Forward Financial Bank, a branch of Marshfield Savings Bank, was established under
Marshfield Savings Bank in October of 2007. As branches of Marshfield Savings Bank,
the first offices were opened in Greenwood, WI and Thorp, WI. In December 2008,
Forward Financial Bank, a branch of Marshfield Savings Bank, expanded to four
branches with new locations in Stanley, WI an Withee, WI. There are
also the existing locations in Thorp and a newly remodeled office in Greenwood, WI.
We are excited to offer new product lines, along with the
great existing ones already in place.
The Board of Directors consists of seven members all living in the Marshfield community.
Throughout the years, we have consciously strived to be dedicated to customer service
while fulfilling the financial needs of our customers. Today, we are a solid
financially based institution that is progessive thinking to be a leader in banking
technology through many electronic banking services and products.
